Edit: I have used the software. It doesn't provide any type of SMS alert.

tried it also. cool bit of code, but by heck is it sloowww. Certainly on three in the UK.

disappointing as it could have been nearly ideal

there have been a number of servers for S60 which allow remote viewing and control, some work on windows, some on mac

problem is the client is proprietary for PC or Mac.

one app I love on S60 is mobimate's worldmate
