The ABI (Application Binary Interface) has changed, so any compiled program will need recompiling. Python apps should be OK, but they'll need porting to cope with the package and API changes.
okay, I apologize for being a jerk there earlier- I was just frustrated that my home wireless lan disconnects from OS2006 every 3 minutes but I am now used to constantly streaming AirAmerica @ home now...
aflegg, how about porting VIM so I can change my opera buttons?
Someone said that there's a vim in the image already (symlinked to vi, so I imagine it's Busybox's own).
I've made some progress in porting it (even the Gtk+) version, but maddler's just said on #maemo that he's worked on a port - so his may well be released before mine.
Has anyone had any luck with remapping the zoom rocker buttons to scroll or page down in the new OS? It used to work in 2005 by editting the mapping for f7 and f8, but i can't seem to get it to work in 2006. I have used both xterm as well as a ssh connection to change input.ini remotely to no avail. Suggestions?
Did anyone succeed in mounting an external nfs unit? I tried after having installed the fresh compiled Xterm, but always get a "mount [ip:/export path] failed: no such device" message.
