they recently released a gaming API which I assume has all files and documentation for the MBX chip as well.
Do you have an URL for this?

It's not this is it?: http://focus.ti.com/general/docs/wtb...ontentId=27458

In which case it's an SDK for the PowerVR using OpenGL/VR but has no drivers (and there's not even an SDK for the omap2420 anymore).

Don't forget those LED's! Flashing multi-coloured lights are the pinnacle of an advanced technological civilisation IMHO (and I guess those from the disco era). Just look at StarTrek, where would they be without them?

Do you think that isn't possible programming OMAP2420 with OMAP2430 SDKs ?

It's better than nothing, but there will almost certainly be differences in the driver. The same base code might be used, but with #defines enabling/disabling different things. Ideally one would work from a driver for exactly the right board (omap2420).

So where has your info come from?

To go back to the question, yes I imagine the interface that the OMAP24x0 driver presents to the OpenGL library is the same for both chips; but this is a moot point, as the driver, the support user-space library and the OpenGL implementation are closed source. So what one ends up with (e.g. in the SDK above) is instructions on how to use OpenGL (and whatever initialisation is required for the driver via the user-space library). Useful for the end developer who wants to write an app, not very useful at all if you want to write the driver.

overflo,
What you suggest is interesting, however reliable and verifiable sources are required before we can act on and get excited about.
Open access to the datasheets and developers documentation for the entire 2420 would improve the situation somewhat, but at the same time, I do not think it is Ti's decision to release the full documentation for the PowerVR aspects (since this is owned by Imagination Technologies).

We had a long discussion the other night where we discussed putting together a coherent request for documentation/information and drivers specifically for our devices.
This would involve clarifying what we have and where we stand and what we would need from each supplier.
You are relatively new to all this and we really appreciate all your energy and would like to know more about you and your background and interests in the platform.

The majority of the people involved in the graphics and hardware issues in general hang out in the #maemo IRC channel on freenode.
Please drop in (people are knocking about most of the time but once you are there you will find out specifically where people are).

I would like to get to know you a bit more, your enthusiasm may be an asset

Thanks lcuk for your wellcome...

I'm a hardware (asic/fpga) designer ... I'm not a programmer ...
but I have knowledge in firmware and C programming

I you want some reference of my works read SAT-HOWTO on linux Docs

thanks for your invite in IRC Channel
