Hallo,
I installed Diablo, and then followed the instructions to get rotation to work. It worked great (thanks guys !).

But then, I think after approving some auto-update, it just disappeared.

Trying to reinstall it gave nothing...

Did anyone encounter such behavior ?
What would be the easiest way to get it back ?

Regards,
Shushu

I'd (re)install advanced backlight applet, to see if you've still got rotation kernel ( you probably do.) If you still can't get rotation, better flash the kernel, probably with sliderotate, as this is automatic. (not sure if you'll have to go into red pill mode to install, so if it doesn't work, try that too.)

Most likely you were in red pill mode and installed an xomap update. Which overwrote the screen rotation modification.

Its the Xomap Update, Just re-run the deb and it will fix it. Every time I do an apt-get -u update I have to re-run the xserver-xomap.deb because apt-get is always using "red pill" mode.

If you aren't using anything experimental turn off red pill mode. You don't need it for 90% of things.

thought about holding the xserver update back?

echo "xserver-xomap hold" | dpkg --set-selections

p.s apt-get + dpkg aren't regulated by application manager.
