I would hardly say Palm OS "manages [running applications of an SD Card] very well", because:

A) Booting apps from the card is much slower than from internal memory
B) Not all applications are compatible with booting from a card
C) Most data files get saved to Internal Memory anyway
D) Card apps cannot be categorized with the default launcher, so they all get grouped in <Your Card Name>


I actually think cloning the OS, as you can in Maemo, is a much more elegant solution.

No, it's what some people do. Others use flash cards to store documents, images, and media files. While still others store on their cards virtual filesystems full of Debian applications.

1. what is that
2. In order to do that, u have to do the steps in that wiki link that was referred to earlier in this post?
