Is there a possibility to turn off the screen when listening to audio files with the default mediaplayer?

If not, is a player available which can do this?

Yes, there is. I forget the exact link, but there is an manual blank option and a quick lock trick you can do that'll allow you to do just that.

Hi,

I would just lock the screen and have the screen set to go off after A few minutes and you are all set.

You lock the screen with the power button.

I do this and works fine for me with Canola, I assume it work for for your purposes also.

If you install the auto lock app, the screen will blank within a second or so after covering the light sensor (just put it in the case while music is playing). Get it here:

But as others have said, just go to Settings / Control Panel / Display and set the time "Switch off display" to the time you want. Also make sure "Display stays lit" is set to "never" if you want the display to dim even when the charger is connected.

Hey, not to sound silly, but won't the auto-lock actually lock your screen if you walk into a dark room with the tablet running if it's reliant on the light sensor?

If its a real dark room yet. I've had times at night driving that my auto locks locks me out because its dark outside, but you can unlock it.
