FYI, this is why you use a CREDIT card and not a DEBIT card. You're not protected against this stuff with a debit card, and it's a much steeper uphill battle. With a credit card, you're automatically in the right unless the investigation says you're not. With a debit card, it's the other way around.

ebay is becoming shadier as the years go by... I have had one bad experience with ebay over the years..get this story!...

I bought a Palm Tungsten C back in the day (before my N810 that is atleast). The seller didn't have many sales, but of course I didn't care about that (the C was going for a good price). I got the product then noticed that the WIFI didn't work, got no reprieve from the seller, I fought it through ebay/paypal with no luck. On a whim I contacted Palm to see if it was underwarranty and would you believe me....the product was still under warranty. I sent the Tungsten C to Palm and got a new one. Whew! I couldn't believe it...I was almost given the fast one by the seller... it has made me weary since then.

The thing with the Nokia N95 also....I didn't realize that there are Finland and China versions! what is up with that.....

Congrats on getting the money back..atleast you will be weary now! dsralph

What makes you think so? It just depends on your contract.

With a credit card you build up a debt you're not immediately paying off. That, and the apparent addiction to boats, cars, houses, and God knows what creates quite an unstable economy. With a debit card, you're using money you actually earned, and you pay off your debt immediately when you finish the transaction. IOW, a credit card is one extra step of creating debt. And creating debts drains the economy...

1) Don't go out of eBay deal. Yes, she can sell the item to you if you're the second bidder. On eBay, this is perfectly legit. But via the official way.
2) If she has send you the item, she send it insured. This is the option she described in her item description (if she didn't you DON'T bid cause you want your item to be send insured). In that case, if it got lost, she can retrieve the money from UPS, and you're protected via PayPal/eBay receiving a refund. Unfortunately, in this case it seems UPS only covers $100 for $10 extra. Not good.

The only problem I ever had on eBay involved a shipment which I never received. After tons of e-mails and yadayada (wait a few more weeks, maybe its at Customs, maybe it god confiscated, ...) she finally send me back my money (after at least 6-8 weeks) long after the normal period I'd have received my package (it takes approx 5-6 business days to send a package from California to Netherlands) and a few days before I my ability to provide feedback vanished I gave negative feedback and put she was unwilling to refund and bad communication. Her reply was that negative feedback with statement you received a refund. Yeah, freakin' late after tons of nagging e-mails...

Since then I decided to stick with eBay UK and eBay DE because these countries are more near, and delivery is faster, and no Customs BS.

20 positive feedback is not much BTW. And, the feedback is mostly from other newbies, and transaction information isn't available either (private or too long ago). However, I'd put my money on a stealing postal deliverer.

Welcome to the World, American.

The default versions (normal and 8GB; N95-1 & N95-2) is the default e.g. for Europe, and most of the rest of the World.

Then there are 2 American versions (normal and 8 GB; N95-3 & N95-4) and 2 Chinese versions (normal and 8 GB; N95-5 & N95-6). This is because these countries have some different standards/restrictions.

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N95#Versions_comparison and scroll up for some other details.
