). So now we see that the 770 even has Java acceleration BUILT IN! 1) Nokia programmers/engineers don't know how to add it.
2) No room in the flash memory.
3) There was a huge snowstorm in Nokia last winter and it delayed development--something had to go, Java.
4) ARM/Sun require large licence fees to use the Jazelle extensions, which Nokia deemed to not have sufficient ROI.I'm putting my money on (4)... however using Jazelle we could get some really good Java performance - possibly good enough for us third party devs to ship Java applications for end users.
5) Maybe they just don't have spare developers to work on adding Java support to Nokia 770 and are working to improve some other more important things
