Well I got the N95 8GB and a python program to restart it rather quickly, no opening animation or sounds and just straight power down and restart to the active standby home screen. I was wondering if anyone had been working on or thought about making a restart app for OS2008, saving that whole 3 seconds of holding down the power button then having to hold it once more to power back on, good for restarts after app installs.

Not quite sure if this thread should be here, but if it needs to be moved, my apologies.

Thanks in advance for any help guys.

Download the Advanced Power applet. Amongst other things, it has an option to reboot the device. It takes 3 taps and then a confirmation tap.

Where is the install, or what catalog is it in? I only have the basic catalogs it came with.

Here's the forum link for all the info. It was originally named pybattery, so the search option may not yield the correct results

Another little snag while installing. I need Python2.5-dbus, gnome, hildondesktop and hildon-desktop-python-loader. Which package can I get these in or find them seperately.

Umm, that I'm not really sure of. I must have had all those installed. I didn't install them myself, they likely came packaged with some other programs I downloaded.
