Any way to get MediaBox to index AAC (.m4a) files? I know in Canola you have to include paths containing aac in your "Video folders" to get them indexed[1] -- is there perhaps a similar trick in MediaBox?
Well, since they appear and play in the filesystem browser, they are well supported. By default, MediaBox looks at the files that tracker lists as media files for indexing. So tracker doesn't appear to be aware of .m4a.
You can go the filesystem and on the icon for the folder containing your music, tap and hold down for the menu. There you can scan the folder for media that tracker did not list.
I experienced following: when a MP3 is played in MediaBox, no matter wich renderer I'm going to select (even the LOCAL one), the MP3 is immediately set to 'PAUSED'. Is this behaviour intended? So maybe the renderes aren't the real problem, but the pausing of the media file? :-)
It's paused so that it doesn't continue playing on the device while being rendered on the media renderer.
When will be the v0.96 release?
will be improved the lyrics/minilyrics feature?
I think there isn't any maemo app with a good lyric support, because starling shows static lyrics from internet but it doesn't read local lyrics(stored in a file o id tag).

There won't be a 0.96 (or 0.97 for that matter). The versioning scheme is now date-related. The next release will be something like 2010.01.xx or 2010.02.xx.
Lyrics support currently includes LRC and enhanced LRC. More to come.
I knew mediabox supported lrc files but i think the following features will be a good improvement:
-Show lyrics using the full "video" area (full screen maybe not necessary)
-Customize font size
-Show previous and next phrase lines (maybe in other color)
Customize colours for background and foreground(current phrase and previous and next phrases) maybe is less important than the previous points.
pycage If i can help in anything let me know,.. and thank you for this app and your time
