Excellent point. Even on my Ubuntu desktop I use youtube-dl to get videos because it's so much faster. A big factor in site speed is how they're developed. Almost any site can get improved performance and deliver the same content. Poor site development is much more apparent on mobile devices -- even netbooks.

well i made a very short video. pardon the quality, it's from my p1i cam. visited the engadget page for the first time today to make sure no page caching was done beforehand.

I concurr that is an acceptable level of browser performance. There are sites with slower performance but they are more of an exception. There are also sites that come up faster.

You found a bright side? Bummer. I was just about to suggest you change your user name to "ImaDowner."

I think you may have not read the specs before purchasing the device and were expecting too much out of it. When I read your first post to this thread, I did not see a single question about how to improve speeds, or if what you were experiencing is typical of other users. Asking nicely is the best way to get a positive response, or help with a problem. The problem is putting down a product in a community of those who appreciate it. I am sorry you do not like the N810 and that it does not fulfill your expectations, I hope you find something you like better.

Assumption is the mother of disapointment. All decisions should be informed ones.
