You can also install packages directly through application manager - if you're having a problem with this too then I'd suspect your net connection - is your wifi signal any good?
XTerm is Terminal. I think that it's under Utilities in a clean installation.

I tried Application Manager and I could see application lists, but I did not see any progress when I tried to install rootsh.
Is there some trick here to visit maemo?
by the way, when I visited ITT forum, I have to open it in google cached link. that is weird, is it?
one more thing: I thought XTerm is integrated in OS2008, but I did not find it. Please kindly correct me or tell me which package I should install, osso-???
