Hello all,

just got my brand new 770 yesterday ( it shipped with OS 2005 from Fry's...).

As per users guide, I have inserted the battery, and started charging.

As per the guide, the battery on the charging screen should stop scrolling when the battery is full.

I have left the unit charging from 6 PM to 7 AM next morning: the battery symbol was still scrolling...

I have disconnected the unit from the charger, and then reconnected it: no more scrolling, the battery shows full.

My question is now the following: how long does it take (in average) to get a full charge from a completely empty battery?

And: is this normal, that the charging indicator does not work properly?

Thanks for any comments....

perhaps a firmware flash to the newest OS or the newest version of OS2005 might help

Hi. I have been using Nokia phones many years and every now and then the battery indicator seems to function wrong. It is not any problem at all because the battery is charging anyway. The charging time depends on battery capacity and how fast the charger is. It's 3-4 hours for totally empty battery and 1-2 hours for half full battery. The battery charger for Nokia 770 is very quick so even if you have empty battery it's charged fast. So don't worry, it's not anything critical. It is different when the battery is at the end of it's life, signs are that even when the battery is full the power will drop very fast and it also charges full very quikly.
