Any way to actually change the UserAgent string for Tear to spoof the iPhone userAgent string ?
While I like the fact that Tear shows webpages in full - there are some sites I actually like using the mobile version (sadly for mobile versions seems to equate to iPhone version for most apps these days).
A Better layout would be nice, I'll be back to check the links from my Nokia.
The scrolling issue may be what I've had with google spreadsheet. I attribute it to a constant refresh setting where it checks the server for changes (like from multiple users). I've wished I could disable that letting me navigate spreadsheets without switching active part of the screen and returning to home position every few seconds.
Any update about these problems about using gmail iphone version with tear:
1. auto scroll to the top of the page
2. set the width to 100% for gmail web app
3. use the new version of gmail iphone webapp (look here http://www.theiphoneblog.com/2009/04...-easy-linking/)
For the problems 1 and 2 I found a solution: dislabling scripts from options (Tool > Options...), but it's not great....
Thanks
Luke
Add this to your userstyles.css:
#inbox[style*="320px"], #composeview[style*="320px"], #conversation[style*="320px"], #moreviews[style*="320px"] { width: 100% !important }
and go to mail.google.com with an iPhone user-agent.
Bundyo, are you generally using an iPhone user-agent? I find it gives me simplified-for-iPhone pages where I'd rather have the "regular" webpage. I take it there isn't a way to selectively use the iPhone user-agent?
