How can you put the 770 to sleep, without using the Nokia metal case?

(Sorry for the newbie question...)

Just turn off any wifi connections and let it sit there until the display turns off after a certain (configurable) time.

AFAIK, the only thing that the case does is turn the screen off instantly and disables the wifi (if you didn't over-ride that in the settings) ... and, of course, protect the screen from impact. I believe everything is still running like normal under there and power management is handled transparently.
