We also could include any needed library in a different path and play ld tricks to load them instead of the system ones. See here http://qtoctave.wordpress.com/2010/0...e-bibliotecas/
Long term, we also could update glib in the SSU

Sorry for the off-topic interjection, but I think it would be great if Tear had an "Enable Flash" setting, so I could disable it. I would just use MicroB for Flash sites. MicroB apparently can disable Flash. And Opera doesn't support Flash at all, and I haven't missed it. This would be faster than a FlashBlock-type approach, wouldn't it?

I've got the new version of Tear installed.Installation was successful, but when I open Tear it opens a window and looks like it's loading the homepage. But then there is a crash and close, with now error. Any ideas?

fire up xterm, enter tear, paste what shows up here.

One more thing: This might be a little embargoing, but looking at the file size on the garage page, is it by chance an update, and not a stand alone install? If so, it's probably broken because I uninstalled the old version before installing the new one :S

buurmas, that option is already there! Uncheck "Enable plugins" in popup menu int bottom right corner

cstryon, Tear requires newer libwebkit than version available in repository. Please install this: http://bundyo.org/maemo/webkit/libwe...7-13_armel.deb

I installed new lib. Tear will open to dashboard, but when I try to browse to any page, It closes again.

When I try to install Tear 0.3.6, it says I'm missing an app. Application Packages missing: libpcre3(>=4.5)

Any help?

There should be a version of libpcre3 in extras.
