I've finally found time to clone my tablet to the SD card(s), But I need to get a couple of last questions answered before I pull the trigger. I posted to Penguinbait's thread, but haven't got a response yet, so I thought I would post here.

Some backgrould on me, I am an experienced Linux user, so most of these questions mainly relate to the ARM and/or to the NIT.

1. The docs I have seen here (and there are several, so finding the canonical one was part of the cause of my confusion) said to create the first partition as VFAT. Is the reason to make the tablet windows compatible or is there an N810 specific reason for this? I also think I read that it is recommended to make the first partition on *both* cards (internal 2GB and external 16GB). On the external card, I formatted it ext2/3 and have had no problems...

Does mmcblk0p1 really need to be vfat?

2. How large should the parttiions be? The internal flash is 256MB, and it is rather crowded. Is 512MB on the internal card sufficient for normal use?

3. Same question for swap. Will > 128MB buy me any performance benefits? I suspect not...Traditionally, Unix systems called for twice the swap area as physical memory...But that was for crash dumps. Linux does not require it, and I don't want to waste HD space. Should I allocate a swap area on both devices?

Thanks for your indulgence,
