I am hoping this is true so I can completely get away with my N95. It is pain switching sim cards every time you need navigation.

Hmmm... Reading that softsailor 'article', it credits electricpig as the source which in turn leads to an old Jan21 article which pre-dates MeeGo. Searching electricpig reveals no article citing a Feb 25th news conference.

I think it's bogus, again.

its nearly 2 months late and no explanation at all , ive emailed customer services twice and just got an automated reply

not at all impressed with their customer services / customer relations so far thats for sure

makes me think would it be worths spending money on it if customer services is that great when nokia maps could come for free soon anyways

I dont think we would have choice if you want a gps really 100% commercial working gps like sygic, unless you want to stuck or dont mind using the lousy ovi map or others still developing gps software that you can find it here..... but to Wait patiently even months after months without notice.

Too bad other gps company like TomTom, Garmin, Copilot, Igo, etc... not available on our N900.

Yes, turn by turn should be standard for a high-end device 2010. Free or not free!

Can some one confirm or not if Nokia is going to give us turn by turn?. This is the biggest slap in the face for a phone that when it hit the market cost £500 hard earned pounds... I don't understand why this phone has been dropped from such a great height, even now I'm still learning about the thing and everyday it seems to bring more goodies to my eyes...

Nokia get your fingers out of your A** and give us what we have already paid for!!.

The Iphone and Android have there maps... how stupid do we look!!!! You have the technology, it wouldn't take this long if you knew you were gonna give us what we've paid for so come out and say it... There wont be any turn by turn...

Loz.

In short, No there wont be.

Long answer: We have been waiting for this for almost a year now, even after nokia announced that they were going to "drop" support for the N900.

You may want to look into some of the alternative MAP apps iavailable.
