    josh,
there are some active developers watching this thread already.
what I guess would happen is the simpler of the widgets will get thrashed out and released as clean simple standalone examples.
once that starts to happen, it will be easier for other developers to take those templates and adjust them to their needs and the construction should accelerate

Are we fine with this method though? Is there some alternative organization / management method to make this more efficient?

the SDK is available to have a go right now.

like i said though, there are developers working on widgets now who will lead the way with preconfigured packages and who will have ironed out many of the trickier aspects

    Hello,

    web slice widget

I read all the nice ideas and didn't find something like a web slice. I don't know if it is possible but will be nice to be able to choose a div or whatever of a web page and instead of opening the whole page could see only that web slice updated. Is not an original idea, is like the Internet explorer web slices and I think that iphone has something like that.
Will be handy to have something like that and get the update of the soccer matchs, your quotes, etc.....

Hope you like it and waiting to receive the N900 and looking forward to start helping this nice community.

A What would you like for dinner widget.

Randomly selects a a recipe from a long list of your wives fav and well known recipes. So when she next asks you what you would like for dinner, you are well prepared........

Love it! Wonder if such text messages could be made to just pop up in the widget and not anywhere else (sms lists, notifications etc)?

Dictaphone (voice recorder) widget. I have mentioned this a couple of times before, but I would find a quick-to-operate dictaphone app very useful.
