Well for the moment just hit the thanks button on posts, as each "Thanks" helps build Karma which apparently helps make us more eligible for device discounts, Nokia developer programs, etc. Once the app is "finalized" and we get a documentation page setup I'm going to setup a "donate to the cause" paypal button or something for anyone who's so inclined; no pressure of course but any donations would go towards purchasing more devel devices or incentive to develop further apps.

lol patience please! This isn't even a full release yet, just a "preview" ;-) So these themes aren't even finalized yet, let alone any other themes being ready! They'll show up in extras along with the app once we get that far though so don't worry the Nixies will be back... I've got a plan for another theme too, and I'm sure if Ciro gets some time he'll make up a few masterpieces as well ;-)

The new "cleaning" method that I described earlier will definitely clean up any Flip alarms now and forever, so you shouldn't have any more issues with it (let me know if it does come up again!). Sorry it took so long and a new version to fix that one for you!

Hmm that's a good point, never thought about that.... Generally if you hit snooze the easiest way to "give up on it" is just to exit Flip (that will abort the snooze). I was going to put a little indicator in somewhere to let you know that a snooze was going on... maybe that'd be a good way to put a "cancel" button too... but yea currently turning the alarm off doesn't affect snoozing.

As soon as I get the clock settings screen done it'll be there don't worry! It hasn't been forgotten...

Albright - The little rectangle "loading thing" is created automatically by the tablet OS and cannot be disabled. Really I'll admit the splash screen was just there to see how quickly I could get a graphic up on the screen since the load time seemed to be a bit longer than I was originally expecting so I wanted to visually know "when the app actually started and could display something" vs "when the clock was up and running". I can put an option in the config to disable the splash screen, it just means you'll be sitting there with a blank screen instead for a bit waiting for the app to load up (the splash screen doesn't slow down the loading process, it just makes something appear on the screen while the app is starting up).

Jolouis, if there will eventually be more than three themes, it will take too much time to sequence through. Is there a way that a window comes up and you can select from a list? This would be quicker when there are many to choose from.

This app starts to feel more and more like a Maemo5 UI "Just when you thought you were asking for something crazy... shhh... just wait... ;-)" lol but yea the original plan was to have a graphical "theme browser" that would let you select whichever theme you wanted and see little description/who made it/etc. It'll be accessible from the clock-settings page; the current "next theme" button was actually more of an afterthought to make it easy to switch between themes quickly (i.e. night/flip). On that note, by the way, thoughts on theme "enable/disable"? Originally I'd planned to have an option to say "disable themes" so that you could have them installed but they wouldn't cycle when you hit the next theme button (i.e. you'd have to manually choose them/enable them from the aforementioned theme browser); however as I thought about it more it kind of seemed a bit silly...after all, why not just uninstall the themes you don't like, that way they don't have to bother you... thoughts though?

Like you noted, I think eventually the "Theme" button should be a toggle between your chosen "day" theme and your chosen "night" theme. Therefore it could be labled "day/night". I was really afraid that if I hit it by mistake, it would take a long time to cycle through many different themes.

looks great but i have a couple of problems.

1 when i start flipclock, my 'battery low' icon comes on. i was charging at tne time.

2 how do i set an alarm? i expected a button for this but no.

1. I can't reproduce this on my N800.

2. This is how you set alarms. Hold you stylus on the green inverted triangle that is at the bottom center of the screen. Next, slide stylus upwards. To return to clock display, hold stylus on the green inverted triangle at the top center of screen, then slide stylus downward.

I've seen some stability issues lately with this new version of Flipclock:

- Snooze didn't re-trigger the alarm,
- I have the screen set so that it goes black after some time, it has happened twice now with Flipclock that the screen has gone to black and there is no way to get it back to 'life' without resetting the device.

Apart from that it's very pretty but I may not be willing to trust it enough for an important morning wake-up quite yet

I noticed this once in all the times I've been testing... I think it has something to do with the fact that Flip connects to the battery monitoring service at startup, and doing this seems to trigger the "low batt" indicator if your battery is at a fairly low power level (i.e. you just plugged it in to start charging from "low batt" a few minutes before hand). I believe it's an issue with the battery monitoring system rather than the app itself (Flip uses battery monitor to tell it whether the charger is plugged in or not). In my case the warning just came up but when I looked back at the main status bar the battery was still charging so wasn't a big deal.

That's not good, anyone else experienced this? (you didn't sleep through it right? ;-) Not that I talk from experience or anything ;-) ). What was the snooze interval set for?

I assume you mean the normal tablet behaviour (i.e. you're not using Insomniac mode)... sounds like there's a loop or process somewhere that's tying up the CPU, which is strange because Flip shouldn't do anything at all while tablet is in idle mode (screen off). Other possibility is that maybe the battery died? Anyone else run into this problem as it's not something I've seen on any of my test devices here...

Jolouis, When I brouse and find a sound file for my alarm, can you have it remember that folder as my default folder?

Also, with the snooze "off", when my alarm comes on, a large blank button pops up at the bottom right corner which does nothing, and the "cancel" button on the bottom left is invisable but works.
