I thought the openly declared war was clear for everybody from day one. Otherwise rootsh would have been in the appstore

Agreed. I don't see what the big fuss is about. Apple has always been a company which sells a closed product. Their idea (which has been very successful) is that Apple products should not fail due to software incompatibilities. They don't want to have customers installing something that can cause their phone to freeze or require a reboot.

If you want to use the phone as it is out of the box (with limited add-ons available), then consider the iPhone. If you want to mess with your phone at the root level, don't.

If you're comfortable with software hacks, here's a hardware hack for the battery:

Or the attacks on non-popular aren't given the credit they deserve.

Haha true. But to me, firmware updates and adding physical features to thwart attacks (see PSP-3000 and now PSP-Go) are two different types of declaration of war.

This new jailbreak stopper is a different animal. Operates higher up in the system area and a broke device will require a reboot- with a computer. So if you have to restart your phone for any reason, you will need to have a computer near you with the jailbreak app on it.

I $hit you not. Apple may have finally stopped convenient jail-breaking juts like Sony might have with the PSP Go. Then again, hardly anyone is buying a PSP Go.

apparently, it's not "hackproof" afterall. iPhone 3GS locked down ROM has already been circumvented.

the PSP Go... that's also going to fall. Too many exploits for that platform too.

LOL a different animal... what you describe is called the tethering method and has both existed and worked before. Its a step before a full jailbreak not requiring tethering.
