Okay, nevermind LSL1; you can play blackjack instead, which reacts to text commands.
But, there seems to be a problem with the old Sierra games that use text input window (not commandline): they don't react to ENTER being pressed. In Larry 3, you can click the window instead, but Larry 2 is totally uplayable because of this.

After getting the cavefish(?) goggles the game would hang in a loop of constantly putting the goggles on, something that seemed to have something to do with the weapon swapping issue, as the problem went away when I stopped trying to swap weapons and just cheated.
Something to do with Fn/Ctrl/Shift buttons + click? I had huge issues recreating the problem as it was pretty random and I just wanted to get past that awful section.
Seems that you got over (quote) that awful section (unquote), could you pass on your knowledge, 'cause I'm all outta ideas. Though my problem is slightly different: I cheated, shift-v, from the beginning and therefore didn't swap weapons at all. Fortunately I've made it from constant-goggles-on-and-off- situation to a state where I can drive the mineroad on and on peacefully until I hit ctrl-i to put the goggles on making Ben start the annoying ritual.

Could it be possible to get over/warp to the caves - like playing it on PC, saving, and then moving the savegame- file to N900?

EDIT: Got it to work with a little elbow-grease, patience and trying out every little thing there is!

Hi all, I need to reinstall ScummVM on my N900, but i've been playing a couple of games an don't really want to lose my save positions. Is there anyway to backup my saves, reinstall ScummVM an then restore the saves? I'm not even sure where the game saves are located.

Secondly, the reason i'm having to do this at all is because I changed a graphic option for a game from x2 to x3, which resulted in a black screen, and now whenever I start ScummVM it just loads for a bit then quits out. If anyone knows how to remedy that instead of me having to resort to the saves backup an reinstallation, that'd help a lot too.

Thanks in advance for anyone that can offer some advice

I have my saved games in /home/user/MyDocs/Games, the same folder where I have the games.
If you reinstall ScummVM you won't loose your saved games files, cause they aren't in ScummVM data folder.

You can try removing /home/user/.scummvmrc file to get ScummVM back to default, but you need to add all games again. You can edit this file, but try to understand what are you doing before touch anything.

Many thanks CepiPerez, this worked a treat!

For the benefit of anyone else this happens to, I Used CuteExplorer to firstly see the full filesystem, I enabled 'Show hidden Files' to see the .scummvmrc file, and then I deleted it to set Scummvm back to its defaults.

Out of curiosity (and because I'm stuck in the casino in lsl1, too ): How did you manage to play blackjack with text commands? I didn't manage to start the game (I think it's mapped to F4), is there a text command you can use instead?

Type "deal" to start. Use the appropriate commands during the game (hit, stand, split etc.)

Hmm, looks like Lands of Lore 1 is now supported by ScummVM Dev:
