If anything more recent than flash 6 comes to the 770, I believe it will most likely come from Nokia licensing Flash Lite which is meant for mobile/lowend devices. I believe it does video and most of what flash7/8 does with the exception of 3d processing.
So Serge, do you think it would make more since to get the web browser optimized for embedded MPlayer to play video through some trivial hacks or is it more realistic to believe upgrading the flash player is possible?
Well, all that I want to say is that it is technically possible to play such video on Nokia 770 and cpu is fast enough. I only commented this issue because I have seen too many posts from people who give up too early and believe that "it is impossible because hardware is too limited"
Whether it will be implemented in the form of flash plugin developed by adobe or via running mplayer from a browser or using gstreamer to integrate flash video support into browser or other applications does not matter.
I don't have flash plugin on my desktop PC as I consider it evil and none of the sites I visit on regular basis use it (except for some banners that do not contain anything useful anyway) So I'm not particularly interested in spending my time on supporting this stuff. But I surely don't mind if anyone comes up with a good solution for watching flash video from a browser using mplayer.

Great! Thanks for clearing that up for me. Also, thanks for the link. It looks like a great way to get MPlayer to be more integrated with the Opera browser, and actually this seems to be the most logical way to handle most multimedia streams anyway.
I'm encountering websites that claim they can't find a flash player on my system, even though I see it listed in plugins. So obviously the current tablet version is out of date. Sure hope an update is coming soon...
First, it looks like there is some kind of an SDK available for implementing Flash Player 7 on other devices - not only that, but there is "redhat" linux source code available for a plug-in version of the Flash 7 player.
Second, that page makes it appear as though the Flash 7 SDK is free, and a charge is simply made for every copy of the player that is sold. If this is the case, then what, truly, is holding us back from making Flash 7 for the 770 a reality - at least from a developer community perspective?
Certainly, for something like this, a saleable, closed-source solution wouldn't be frowned upon (at least...not by me.)
