how do i play media through my network on vlc? cant seen to find the directory
I am streaming my movie collection via mounted smb shares under titan's kernel (http://wiki.maemo.org/Kernel_Power#CIFS_Support). Works really nice with all my movie files I've tried so far. Only problem is that my CPU runs at 100% usage (850mhZ) during playback and the phone gets really warm.
I just found out, that when i open the GUI of VLC player the CPU usage automatically goes up to 100% (without opening any media).
anyone experiencing the same weird behavior?
Edit: when i open a movie files in x-term with the command cvlc i get about 60% CPU usage at 600MhZ while playing the movie. So it seems that the GUI pushes the CPU usage up to its maximum. Anobody knows why this is happening?
I'd really like to use VLC as my default player with the GUI!
I have audio issue when streaming french tv channel on my freebox.
I use standard url :http://tv.freebox.fr/stream_channelname
I have a realy good video flow but no sound. I tried to reactivate the audio track1 but nothing happpens.
I couldn't find my N900 anywhere! But I knew it was somewhere around the house... So I ssh'ed in to the N900, and used vlc to play an mp3... then I just listened for the music!

Turns out it was outside on the back deck...
haha....maybe get something like this....it sets off an alarm should you get beyond 10 metres from ya phone.
I don't need it to be HD, but a lot of the files on my htpc are HD, and I like to just copy 20 or 30 onto my n900 every so often. I'd like them to play, even if not in HD
