Hey,
just got a new (used) 770. Love it!

the company I bought it from offered me a "Square Trade" service warranty for the 770 (www.squaretrade.com)

its 35 bucks to get the warranty for 3 years. its totally cheap, which makes me wonder if they are stand up, or if this product warrants a repair contract.

any advice is appreciated!

If the company is upright, and the coverage is effective, $35 might well be worth it. It really depends on the company and the terms. If you have no warrantly on your 770 at this point, and/or the contract in question covers additional items outside the Nokia warranty, it could be a good deal.

thanks. need to do some research on them. they claim to be competitors to box store contracts like best buy.

the list of "not covereds" is standard. they fix it if they can, if not, they have the option to 'total' it and give you some unknown dollar amount for it. that is the only real concern I have, but for 35 bucks, i think it might be worth it.
will finish my research and give you all an update
