This thread will list meetup opportunities mostly in the Dallas area, along with some statewide events, such as:

Texas Linux Fest, April 10, 2010, Austin, Texas, USA - http://texaslinuxfest.org/

    ---------------------------------------------
On December 5 the Dallas (Texas) Open Source Saturday group will have a meetup. Details are in the link below:

    http://opensource.meetup.com/62/

I have joined the group and plan to introduce them to Maemo development, although that may be just a short intro. I have suggested a Maemo-oriented meeting for later.

Anyone in the area, come out!

    This is beyond saddening...

I see a great need to cultivate a Texas Maemo developer community. I'm taking that on as a personal mission.

    Dallas developers-- brace yourselves!

rcadden has been finalizing N900 meetup details. We recently discussed venues and dates; not sure if he settled on the former but I believe the date is sometime next week. He should be updating maemo-guru.com with the info.

As for Austin, I don't mind coming down your way on a weekend (I love Austin you lucky dog) so regardless of you coming to Dallas I want to also see what can be started down there. Surely y'all have open source advocates...

Yeah, should be free on the 5th. Looking forward to it.

Cool, hope we both can make it.

Keep in mind Maemo is not the subject of this one (there is a different demo already planned) but I hope to wrangle it into the conversation.
