It depends which network you are on and who you are changing to.
Since everyone's talking about screen protectors. I've got the official Nokia case (had since mid Nov). Since most of my scratches on my N95, happened in my pocket or whilst lying on the "side". I think I'll only ever use my finger or stylus (never my nail) so shouldn't scratch it!
With regards to PAC codes - if you're on a T-Mobile contract, you can switch your number AFTER you're connected.
If you're on Voda, you will need to provide the PAC code before you switch or you'll lose your number.
A few people have asked this - you're welcome to check their respective websites, but its definitely correct. I've done number ports to both companies before and had it confirmed by MPD.
