cuz our sweetheart n900 consumes a lot of battery .. its gud to have an extra one. U use gps n stuff (and the bigger screen than n97 res-wise) and drains battery faster..... and since this device has the potential to replace your laptop in many situations, it means you'll be doing some serious stuff on it, and in those cases you dont want your single battery to turn you down
