Hello i set up Nokia Messaging witth my gmail on my N900 . it works fine on my N900 but I can't log in on email.nokia.com .That say"The user name and password you entered do not match any accounts on record. Please make sure that you have correctly entered the first email address you used when you signed up for Nokia Messaging.".
Yeah I have the same problem with reading gmail on my computer. Sometimes it takes a couple hours for it to be marked read on the N900 and sometimes it never shows as read.
nokia messaging was working fine for me for a week, then now i can't send email using nokia messaging, and emails disappear from my inbox randomly (sometimes i see no emails in my mailbox at all)

The login there is the gmail or hotmail etc address and password that you used when setting up NM.
Ok one problem I have which I have searched and have been unable to find a solution for is:
When using Nokia Messaging for gmail, when I delete a mesage from my Inbox, it gets deleted from the server as well. I would like to turn this feature off. Is there an option for this that I have missed?
In addition to this, I haven't yet managed to archive my emails (on the gmail server) through Nokia messaging, haven't found an option for that either, even though I have selected All Mail on the Nokia Messaging website.
Any tips?
sounds like you want a pop mail account. you need to change your gmail account to pop rather than imap and ten give it a try.
I have no problems with email from two other providers, but 1 Gmail and another Gmail hosted email account are giving me problems-
In relation to the standard Gmail account- as I typically check my mail with Apple Mail, messages are not marked as read when I check the account in my browser- the n900 mail app attempted (and actually managed after about an hour!) to tell me I had 13k+ new messages. However, every time I tried to open an email, the mail app would freeze- I assumed it was trying to download all those messages (but prayed to god that it was not!). So I deleted the account (on the n900) then marked all unread emails as read (using Gmail browser interface) and tried setting up on the n900 again- this time it correctly reported no new email messages--- but the same problem- every time I try to open an email- the app freezes. I can't seem to find any settings that would manage new mail retrieval... anyone else?
(With the hosted Gmail account, I can access no problem, but cannot send email)
if you are using IMAP yep there is a bug with large mailboxes that causes Modest to go away for a long time. use Nokia messaging to get your gmails pushed to you.
I have set it up successfully to recieve gmail emails but when I try to reply one it just puts the message in the outbox and does not send.
Anyone also experive this issue? Any resolution?
default is send and receive every 15 minutes change it by editing the account on your n900
