Just wanted to confirm that (for me) the .desktop files work perfectly, as long as they are correctly formated and have the correct paths in them. I have even made a folder called "Wallpapers" under .images, where I put the actual jpg-files.

The .desktop file then goes into the .images -folder and has to reference the Wallpapers -folder (of course), like this:

    X-File1=/home/user/MyDocs/.images/Wallpapers/forest1.jpg

I've edited four different desktop files and never had a problem.

This thead is some help but as yet I haven't found a way to install the wallpapers other than doing it manually for each screen. And yes, you need to delete the faulty .desktop file to get your 'change background' working again (I did it via USB mass storage).

I understand people are looking at it in that thread to work out why it doesn't work.

To clarify; in my situation there was nothing in that thread that would help. The images that were being used and I could not change were NOT in .Images as neither were the .desktop files. Tried looking for them from the terminal (as root) to no avail.

Ended up "solving" it by flashing the eMMC.

That thread has nothing to do with stuck wallpaper on "one" of the screens.

Also encountered this problem. The wallpaper on the second desktop is stuck, and I can't seem to find any way to change it. The wallpapers on all the other desktops change just fine, also loopable wallpapers from .desktop files work. Just not on the second desktop.

Tried moving/removing all the .desktop files but that changes nothing. Tried deleting the image file that is stuck, but I guess the one in use is stored elsewhere, anyone know where that might be?

The problem is really annoying, so if you have found a solution or have a suggestion, I'm open to anything. Really would like to avoid flashing it.. Seems this problem is kinda rare.

Ok, managed to fix this by clearing /home/user/.backgrounds/ . Files in the directory were automatically restored.

After that I managed to change the stuck wallpaper.

Just in case someone else encounters this.
