So i just called a friend of mine using "Google Talk call" from the contacts list. we had a great laugh and jealousy immediately ensued when i mentioned that I made this call from my n900 and not a computer.

the jealousy was tamed when i was demanded to video chat.

So my question, is this possible from the N900? I could not find a setting to configure the front facing camera and i was told that on there end it says that I "must sign into gmail website to use video chat"

i dont have the phone but it would be prudent to see if the website works with the front facing camera. if it does then you can move onto dedicated applications within the os for chat, but see if it works on the site first.

When you go through the website (cumbersome by the way) the end result is "video not supported in OS

Last time I checked, gtalk video chat wasn't supported in Linux yet :-[
