hahhahha!! nice idea for a easter egg..
    Video/photo comes for version two..
(or if anyone feels like doing, go for it..)

About the "flight" detection, it is VERY VERY simple! I'm totally positive we can do better.. but it was just not that necessary for the first public version..

And when can we expect a GPS version which can tell us how far we can throw it?

I also wonder what fancy stuff could be recorded during a rollercoaster ride? Could we collect information from various rollercoasters around the globe and compare the thrill??

It's frivolous, fun apps like this that give someone else an idea for a serious application.

This is the best idea from for an app yet, from anyone. vreate a 'peer review app' with respositorys for subject type. Subject experts sign up to repositorys via FTP and are notified of new deposits to peruse at their liesure.

Of corse, we could just set up 3 public flckr accounts called 'animal' 'vegitable' 'mineral' and upload stright to them

It's a bit hard to understand the "relative to free fall" bit of accelerometer readout definition.

Just think of it as sum of all the forces applied to the N900 case - not including those that will cause rotation. And the reading is the inverse vector actually.
Also a spinning device most probably will create bogus readings

on a lighter side of the N900
while looking through the apps in the aplication manager i came across

    App name "N900fly"
App Description "Uses the accelerometer to measure how high you can throw your N900"

what gets me in a funny kind of way is who on earth would throw their n900 in the air just to catch a meter reading ?

how accurate is the measurement in relation to how high you throw your N900.... could it accurately read a thrown height of 150ft, did the programmer check for this. whats funnier is the application also keeps track of your best score.

I'm planning to attach my n900 to a model plane and fly in a parabolic arc. Beat that!
