Oh man, order one from letstalk.com and it arrived with the white screen of death, so now I'm looking to get a new one, but letstalk.com is out of stock, so went to Nokia's own web page to order it there and they are out of stock, my local compusa is out of stock . DOES THE 770 exist in North America any more!

Doesn't help when I had one and someone stole it a week ago hence the reason I'm looking to replace it.

Well to update my own thread, looks like I found a CompUSA that does have the product...or at least think they do! Hoping to run down there tonight to find out. But I'm really beginning to wonder if Nokia is pulling these out of the states, just seems odd to find every place out of stock.

I wonder if this is the Holiday rush ... or if the "870" is imminent.

The "Pepper Pad 3" came out ( and a guy at work got it - I am jealous! ) as well as the Lock-ware Mylo, so maybe Nokia is stepping up their game in getting out an 870??

I got mine at Frys. I was there today in Renton, WA and they have them for $350.

If true, well done Nokia - what a master stroke to run down all 770 stock during the Christmas season due to the as yet un-announced "870"! Genius, pure genius...!

Well, CompUSA had them, so I've got my favorite gadget back in had...no white screen of death. With my luck the 870 will probably now come out next week...LOL!

I'm not so sure that the 870 is close to release if ever. I wonder how much of the 770 units sold. Great concept, loved by hackers who know what to do with the unit but way too specialized for most users to create a need for the product. I think the lack of availability has more to do with limited production run rather then a new unit coming out. I hope I wrong though...

They were on Amazon (though Tigerdirect) until tonight - and I noticed it was out of stock. We'll have to see what goes on - I suppose a lot of folks are going to get them now that 2006 OS is out and reasonably stable.

I agree it has limited appeal - this is a classic written all over it.

With other internet tablets coming out - it appears that the niche is being filled, so who knows how Nokia will address it.
