I've been trying to get ORB's UPnP media server feature work with n900 some time. It dod work but picture was too small and i often had problems such as unable to access server. HEre what i done.

I went to

Code:
C:\ProgramData\OrbNetworks\OrbDMS\DMAs.xml
and edited the part for n800 as below

as you see you can set audio and video bitrates and codec. I also edited settings on my urb as on attached image. My wlan set to intermediate power and streming works fine but i get no connection to server errors time to time (don't know why).

Also n900 cannot browse contents of folder on OrbServer at first, you need to try twice.

I didn't try h264 as wmv8 works fine but if you try and get better results please post.

small update : i noticed setting ffdshow as codec works better on my system

For the life of me I just can't get my n900 to stream from orb, itworks better outside of my network?!?!?! It's really starting to annoy me now as every device in my house can stream from the PC downstairs appart from my N900 am I missing something here?

Set to the lowest possable quality the n900 still has buffer issues! The movie is like a slide show so what the hell is it buffering?!?! Have tried to search but just far too many posts about people using orb to stream over the net which it does do perfectly just not over the local network
