Same here too. Some places no signal and others great signal- I wonder if the attenuation of the radio is unstable? Perhaps would also explain the dancing bars?

Then again, the N900 is consistent with no signal in the same areas every time. I might send it back and hope the next one does not have the problem, but Dell will take a looong time to get me another one

I like the price though, so would rather wait. By then, maybe some more apps will be released

Hmm probably to prevent people from checking prices online or in other stores. But i believe in the USA you can't jam cell phone signals without court permission so what they are doing (if this is the case) is illegal. I know high schools were talking about doing that sort of thing.
