Powertop was not installed on my n900 by default, nor can I find it in the tools repository as described in the extras-testing wiki page. I am running 'apt-get install powertop' as root . How do I install it?

I have built a deb for Maemo 5, and I'll try to get it into Extras-devel. The build queue is very long at the moment so it may be several hours before it is available.

unfortunately there already is a powertop in a closed Nokia repo. I'll ask a Nokia rep to see about getting it added properly.

It's built-in, actually, just not in user's path.

Are you sure it hasn't been removed in the retail version? "find" can't find it, unless the name has been changed.

Hi,
powertop is not on the device and you cannot find it in a repository. There are some issues, but it might be that it will be added later on. I will keep you up-to-date on this. Cheers Daniel |

It's not present in the community-testing 51-1 image either :-(

that's a bummer. This is a must-have tool for my extras-testing.
