Got my n900 back from service(broken usb port) two weeks ago and just realized that they have broken my camera. Focusing doesnt allways work, and there is dirt in the lense.
Damn You Nokia. I need to find me a new gizmo to play with for the time my n900 spends in service
Big question though, Santiago: has anyone successfully done any or all of the first 3--which we geeks should be able to do on our own, of course--and then, if it were sent in to Nokia for something else under warranty, they wouldn't notice? This is the primary reason I haven't done anything like this to mine yet.
i'm still waiting for that.... i called nokia yesterday, after 20 days, after 3 times i called them... they dont say me nothing bout it, the phone is in the Nokia Center to be fixed after a check up... but they still dont know nothing bout it, i gotta wait again... i'll let you know all bout that when i'll get a call from them or maybe when they 'll fix it...
i left the whole thing and went for nokia e72 for the time being
my love and affection for the n900 will be still despite the issue with the micro usb socket
and for the battery it has the same battery of nokia express music 5800 so finding an extra battery and external charger for it wont be alot of trouble
i may buy me this phone in the near future i hope cause i cant get it out of my head
hi everyone, i had my n900 replaced around 1 month ago after it was taken in for a repair through carphone warehouse, it was a month later when the store rang me to say i could collect, they had no report or anything just said they gave me a new phone. i was happy with the usb on this phone it seamd a lot more sturdy for some reason, only this morning i pluged my usb charger in to my laptop and i heard the flaming usb port sort off rip off the board, the usb is still solidish on the motherboard but again will not charge, if i sort off wiggle it and hold it in a funny position the light comes on but will not stay on,
my question is, will i be aloud to take it in for repair again, only the first time the phone was a year old and only a month old this time, i did have a n97 mini with the same usb and you could litteraly swing it round with the cable plugged in it was that solid. i am cautious with plugging it in espacialy after the first time. all this hastle is really frustrating. will i be able to ask for a different phone from carphone warehouse as i am really really not happy with the poor design off the charger??? my new phones specks are

Ok, I'll be the next to add 1 to this list of people experiencing problems.
Have had my N900 from new for about 5 months. I noticed recently that the USB port seemed slightly more recessed than usual, but as long as you carefully located the port, it was not a problem. More recently I started to find it would only charge in certain positions, and then the day before yesterday, the whole usb port just fell out.
Not sure what to do with it now, as I got it as a present.
After one year of usage, my N900 has developed a peculiar charging problem.
It only charges from the computer USB charging but does not charge from the AC charging adapter, I have tried with 2 ac chargers and both times the same problem. The charging LED feebly lights up but there is no charging even after a number of number of hours.
Any ideas if this is a software problem or hardware problem, do I just send it to nokia service centre?
Hi zenit!
Are you still using nokia ac-10 1200mAh micro-usb charger or some other model trough the CA-146C micro-usb adapter? In this case the problem might be insufficient charging power.
