Unfortunately, I think it won't be possible. SD resolution (576 lines) is a hardware limitation of the composite video standard.

Even if we could somehow hack the N900 via software or hardware to output a higher resolution via the composite out, chances are that no tv/monitors would be able to display it.

If this would be helpful in repository you can find widget called TV out Control. There is no possibility to get beter res. but this simple app is very nice
