Yup I get that sometimes, very annoying.
When the phone rings maybe the phone should stay locked until the proximity sensor detects it's "out of your pocket"?

Lucky for you T-Mobile in the US doesn't block VOIP. Here in the UK I've just discovered that to my dismay

I really dont intend to use the N900 as a phone. IMHO its an internet tablet with a phone function. I already have an E72 which would be handling all my phone needs.

Yeah its currently my phone. I have a tendency to collect phones and never end up selling them off. I have about 5 old phones sitting around. Maybe they can enable something like they had in the nokia n95. When I would get a call I had the option of having the name or whatever was in the nickname field being read aloud during the ring. This way you know who it is without taking the phone out and maybe a shake to answer?

This would make it a bit easier for those having problems "getting it/pulling out" in time.

Just make sure that the last piece you're pulling out of your pocket is the proximity sensor. So if you wear tight jeans, put the phone into the pocket with the earpiece and USB port down.

Or get a pouch for the N900.

Its a great device i have one wish for a feature/setting tough.

I want a option to set so a incoming call or alarm does not activate the display, before i use the slider on the side or fully opens the keyboard.

I have seen so many great inventions here that i cant emagine that this would be to much of a challenge for some of the brilliant coders in here
