It's not a bare LCD. The touchscreen covers the LCD.
Still, I don't think I'd use a scratch remover on it.

Can you give us some details on the scratch remover.
Is it an abrasive polish or some liquid that fills-in the scratches?

I'd say it's not a bare LCD - "bare LCD" to me would mean an LCD that is not installed in the device, ie. "bare LCD" is just the glass panels before insertion into a final product. I guess it's possible that a bare LCD is not water/dust resistant, hence the warning, and I would imagine the 770 is water/dust resistant (at least splash resistant, more or less).

I'm basing bare on the feel of my LCD monitor and the unit. It doesn't come with a covering at all, and some people have complained about the thing being broken when they tried to remove protective films.
