I have had this happen several times with Transmission. The easiest way to fix it would be to plug it via USB into a Windows computer in mass storage mode. Using windows run the error checking with the option to fix damaged files. Once it's done it'll create a found folder with the errors, and it should work fine after that. This is the one thing I actually use windows for besides printing as Ubuntu doesn't have a driver for my printer. If anyone can find an easy way to do the same thing through Linux I will be most grateful.

You could try from within X-Terminal application, you need rootsh installed:

sudo gainroot
umount /dev/mmcblk0p1
fsck -af /dev/mmcblk0p1
mount /dev/mmcblk0p1 /home/user/MyDocs
