I have a question. My daughter was playing around with my 770, and now the tools/start menu won't work. When I click on it, it opens the mail or the menu for the browser. I have installed several OS versions and although the different versions install, the same problem remains. Any ideas? I cant access the control panel or anything now.

I can't help your problem, but I can suggest that you edit your title to give people a better idea of the problem - and to specify the 770. I'm sure there are people around here who can help, and a clear title will increase your chance of them finding you.

Good luck!

I know on the N800 stuff like this can happen if something gets jammed between the touchscreen and the faceplate. If something is pressing on the touchscreen it would probably show similar behaviour.

If there is nothing, then it might be a damaged touchscreen.

Hope you get it sorted.

Thanks. I actually thought about that later but forgot to do it. Just did it. Good advice.

It looks like that might be it. There is a thin metal piece if you look at the side of the screen. That appears to be bent down and touching the screen. I slid a business card in there and then my tool menu opened. I might bring it to a tech today and have him open it up and bend that piece up or remove it if it isn't needed.
