Do any one experience cracking noise when you choose your own ring tone???
When my ring tones are playing on n900 the sound is not clear i have to lover volume down or use nokia's ring tone.
Can any one try this please?
I have that with all noises from songs to videos if the volume is up to high.
Coming from a N95, the main thing i'm missing is Google maps. It isn't a dealbreaker for me, but it is HIGHLY frustrating to take such a huge step backwards in functionality in that aspect.
Hmm, I think the speakers on the n900 sound really good, personally. I had an n96 before the n900 and thought they were pretty similar in quality and volume (both very good). I made my own ringtones for my n96 and they still sound just fine on the n900.

I agree. I was quite frustrated with "maps" the other day. Tracking was horrible and when it worked the roads covered my icon. Searching for a new location is quite a pain too.

The N95 is still a better all around device than the N900.
After acquiring a n900 I thought my speakers were broken so I returned them to get another and the speakers were still significantly worse than the N95. (more quiet, sounds like the speakers are blown out)
The camera on the N95 takes better mid range and long range which limits social pics.
The N900 hardware buttons are just awkward enough to make using it just a sight hassle.
I enjoy using the N900 quite a bit for its main purpose web browsing but the limited progress of two of the main features of the n-serise is not what I expected.
I would love to hear that I am just unlucky and have received two faulty phone. Also I would love to hear any other previous n-serise owners who have "upgraded" thanks.
i bought the n95 when it came out, still one of the best phones i have ever owned, i have even gone back to my old n95 3 times! because i didn't feel that the new phones i bought was better then the n95.. this includes a iphone 3g that i sold.
however after i switched to n900 i can say the n95 will finally be shelved and proberbly never be used again by me.
