I believe the original creator of Barriosquare no longer has the time or interest in Maemo apps and the guy who took over the reins from Chris probably doesn't either. I tweeted him a few days ago to let him know but like all of us, he's probably too busy too.
Whilst it still works by using search, it's still a crippled program now and it's taken the wind out of my foursquare sails, losing Mayorships each and every week but I don't care. You wonder why foursquare don't have/pay someone to work on it................

I have a problem with natiolan language keyboard input.
My keyboard looks like this:
Б and Ю keys are accessible when national layout is selected.. from any application other than Barriosquare, where i get left arrow action despite other national keys work as expected.
I'm facing the same problem also.
can it be possible to publish exact installation guide?

worth to try: Install PyQt4 Full Install from Extra Devel and install Barriosquare after that it should work now.
(at least that is how I got it working)
Caution: installing something from Extra Devel is on your own risk !!.
