Hi Smurfy,
the SBB changed their site, so your backend for sbb.ch doesn't work anymore: "No results found"

the new website is http://fahrplan.sbb.ch/bin/detect.exe/d

Hi Smurfy,

would it be too dificult to implent one more pratical feature?
- to copy the train timmings output of a search into the clipboard
-- in a readable format/layout (so that it can be pasted into a new text message and in turn manually sent to third party(e.g. someone else who does not have a n900 or ability to install your app but still needs to know the times of the next trains, if you got teenage kids you know what i mean ))

according to this site, it states that typically SMS are limited to 160 characters(letters, numbers or symbols in the Latin alphabet). For other alphabets, such as Chinese(probably unicode), the maximum SMS size is 70 characters.

So if you could squash at least the times of trains output into 70 characters space in the clipboard, then we n900 users could simple use the Ctrl+V to past the clipboard content into a new message and sent it.

you probably could add this functionality as a menu option....

hope you like the idea and thank you for this top pratical app

Thanks smurfy

for this app and the support of the swiss n900 community ;-)

1.) Really enjoyed your app since first installation somwhen in May. But since the last update of Maemo (20.2010.36-2) and your update last weekend, it just won't run properly any more.

Sometimes it does crash when starting- which is not often. But it first would not find ANY station any more, no matter what backend was used. (I used SBB before). Today it does find swiss stations via Deutsche Bahn-backend and also some connections.

So I switched back to SBB- same result: no station found. I read your thread, so I though I reinstall it. After rebooting the system it can find stations with the sbb-backend, but won't find results for the travel-link asked for. Still it sometimes does crash (closes automatically) when "Search" is pushed.

Crash occured on Zürich HB to Zürich Bertastrasse, option=departure time.

Did I miss your update of SBB backend? In what repository is the update you created for sbb? I installed through EXTRAS?

cheers

@2win:

current version is 0.18. i fixed there the sbb.ch backend. you always find the latest version in the extras-devel.

i try to promote the packages to extras-testing and extras, if possible but at least extras needs some time to get there.

Hi!
Everything works fine, except that I'm unable to add weekend-connections (Sa, Su) to my calendar. They are also not added for 01.01.1970.
There are no error messages in terminal, too.
Any idea how to fix this?

btw, wouldn't it be possible to add connections for your calendar events automatically.
So that if you create a new event and set a place e.g. a CITY, fahrplan automatically checks your calendar in the background for events with known places (e.g. CITY = CITY main station) and adds the best/last connection from HOME to CITY so that you arrive just on time and the other way around, from CITY to HOME (after the event has finished).

That would be really cool

@mag4you:

about the sa/su problem, i cant reproduce it, tested with bahn.de and sbb.ch. whats your system language and locale?

the automatic adding of calendar items is a good idea but not so easy to implement i guess.

Ok, I checked it again, it seems to work with other connections, but this one doesn't work:

Sa, 6th November: 8:15 h Schweinfurt Hbf -> Hubland/Mensa, Würzburg 9:43 h

--

German device, but 1st language is set to English..., Time zone is set to Berlin, Germany...
fahrplan version 0.0.17; pr 1.3, 14 visible Calendars (the one for the connection is empty)
