I've had one on my N900 for a while now, and it looks like another one is forming as well.. this sucks.

It's an issue that can affect LCD displays of various types/designs -- I'm not sure if anyone else remembers, but this was a problem that plagued Apple G4 Powerbooks back in 2004 and eventually got to the point where they issued a repair (aka recall) program for the models affected. I had one they repaired, and it had about 18 spots on the display of different sizes. It was ridiculous.

This is EXACTLY the same thing.

I also have this, but I don't really care. For those who wonder what the problem is, here's a picture. The spots are much more obvious in real life than on the picture and clearly visible on a bright/white background. They are however invisible on dark or varying background.

But I am sure not going to send it in for something like this. Can't be bothered to waste time on such a matter...

Yeah, I have exactly the same sopt, only on on the right top corner. Reflashing didn't help. It doesn't quite disturb me, but I just wonder why this is?

It's not a software problem. I have the same problem with my old Fujitsu laptop as well. The problem is that the backlight is a bit brighter in some places. You'll notice the problem when looking a completely white background. I just sent my N900 for repairs cause of this same problem.

I had the dual bright spots. Nokia Care Point replaced the whole unit.

Exact same problem here, two small bright spots. One almost at the center, another about 2cm to the right. There's an area between those spots where pressure sensitivity is noticeably higher. Found out when I updated to 1.2 and used Mypaint.

Thought it was my own fault (pressing the screen too hard or something), but after reading these experiences, I'm not so sure.

Got my N900 barely used second hand (Seller said it was in perfect condition - it wasn't, but it was close enough that I didn't mind), and I had two of these spots in the screen from the get-go. Actually, it may have been just one at first followed by a second sometime soon after. I haven't really been bothered by them though.

nokiauser14: I'd recommend insisting on a replacement device if it's a problem. Or having them replace the LCD screen with a new one. Because the problem is hardware-linked, and since it's physically in the screen itself that's pretty much the only way you'd get rid of it.

One more reason to get iPHONE 4.0 with the NEW retinal display...LOL and don't have to deal with this crap.

I have the same display issue. It's not THAT bad.
Seems like a pressure spot, it's probably not, but looks like something is pushing from behind.

I only have one or two. It's not that bad. If it goes too far and ruins my screen, I will probably just replace the LCD.
This phone/NiT has many, many issues but... LOOK AT IT! IT'S GREAT!
