Hey all,

My First thread ever on maemo.org((())))

okay playing around with my n900 for a good week and a half.

lovin everything about it.

Just wondering is anyone making or porting over a download manager for it.

it would probably be the greatest asset for the n900.

as it stands for me the n900 is the only phone i have actually been able to use well and it works perfect.

downloads do work okay but im download say a film, i have no idea how long its going to take nor the speed it is going.

also i think it would be a great idea for people to list the type of apps that would be an asset to the n900 for day to day use.

Any ideas!!!!!

its a command line utility, if want GUI, isn't the builtin download manager inside the browser not enough?

ah yeah i knew i typed wget before!!

something like that isnt very practical if you ask me. the main reason for a download manager is that for some reason the normal download manager on the n900 is very slow and for some reason pauses large downloads after a minute or so and you have to resume them(more than likely is just a problem at my end)

still though a decent download manager would be invaluable if you ask me!!

I agree, a decent GUI would be nice, but wget has already saved me a couple of times when the browser failed due to weak connection i had. Maybe someone might make a front end to wget
