Hi guys been reading forums for a few days now after being a new owner of a N900. Now i have sorted most of my issues with reading but this is more of a question and possibly issue.

I have setup my email for my gmail account but does the actual app need to be open in the background to have to check mail ? I dont seem to be getting any updates when a new mail arrives and i have to Send/Receive manually everytime. I have set the interval to 1 hour but if i check back after a day it still says last time refreshed a day ago. I have the program in the background today and it refreshed once, but thats it no more time. Am i missing something here ??

Any help would be great, or if there is any other mail apps im missing that are worth while. Thanks.

I have mine set to 15 minutes interval to check for emails and it works fine. And no, the email client does not have to be open in the background.

would there be any reason mine wont login to check mails, im always in well receptioned areas, and there right boxes are ticked to check when i wanted it to.

I will change to 15mins for the sake of trying something different and see how i go.
