The Media player on the N900 could really do with a "change aspect ratio : Normal / Stretch / Zoom) facility as exists on the N97.

It's really handy and can be used to sort out files that have been encoded but are displaying incorrectly. (or to just stretch your 4:3 prog to fullscreen)

any ideas?

Actually sorry, this probably needs to be moved to the N900 section

I would also love to see this option added to the Media Player. I just switched to the N900 from a iphone, and this is the only option i really miss!

hahaha yeah alright, what those of us that have migrated from other devices and have 100+GB of movies already encoded, at least try to contribute to the conversation.

I would also love to see this option added, as I think i would be rather easy, sinse everything this is linux all that needs changing would be the instructions at terminal level? possibly??

Hmm!

I was hoping there'd be a batter answer than "re-encode"

My avi videos are encoded at a wide screen ratio as was the original mpeg, but the media player (and media box) both play them at SD ratio.

Even changed the ratio again using mpeg4modifier, still plays at SD aspect ratio
