Installed 30 and all hell broke loose on my phone. Well, kept getting messages about apps closing, had trouble staying logged in to IM accounts and widgets were disappearing and I couldn't get them back.
Tried rebooting but everytime I did, same thing would happen.
I upgraded from a crashing power28 to power30 and no luck, my n900 didn't boot anymore. Never got to the moving dots screen.
I tried to reflash only the kernel and flasher-3.5 said something about write error and nothing was written.
Luckily reflashing the whole 1.1.1 firmware worked fine. Back on Power30 due to the reinstalling of my apps. Scary ...
Only 81 packages installed fine, plenty didn't install due to missing manually installed packages (via apt-get from the standard repos). Is there no way to have those reinstall automatically (first) before doing the HAM application restore ?
At least it looks like the widgets have survived this time, due to the install of power28 they were all gone from the screens.
I really don't understand what is causing the problems in >=v28.
v31 has exactly the same configuration as v27 except for two useless USB modules.
If it still crashes then it could be a bug in autobuilder or some HW or filesystem problems
on some devices (it works fine on mine).
The only other change is that the first few lines of /sbin/preinit are patched,
but if that would make a difference then your device would not even boot.
could you please show me the first few lines of /sbin/preinit
there should be a line
MODULE_PATH=/lib/modules/`uname -r` #fixed by kernel-power
also what does "ls -l /lib/modules/" show?
is MyDocs mounted?
did you completely shutdown without USB cable and then boot?

DOH - sorry T. Just downgraded to 27 which after a reboot definitely fixes the issue.
